Frog

An abandoned Spanish-style home, still whispering its stories

A tiny tree frog peers out from the soft green curve of a leaf, its textured skin and bright eyes full of personality. Its delicate fingers and calm expression make it seem almost as if it’s posing for the viewer.

The Story Behind the Canvas

I painted this piece for my sister, who had a little tree frog that made its home above her front door. Each day when she came home, it would appear as if to greet her — a charming little ritual that inspired me to capture it on canvas.

Even though she didn’t find it as funny or endearing as I expected, the painting still captures that playful, everyday moment we shared in conversation about her little visitor.
