I loved painting this scene — a small tribute to the hard work of farmers and cowboys who keep our land alive. There’s a quiet dignity in this moment, with the men and their horses taking a rare chance to breathe before moving on.
To capture it fully, I studied the horses carefully, paying close attention to how their muscles relaxed and how their bodies settled into rest. That detail was important to me — to show not just the power of these animals, but also their calm presence at the end of the round-up.
