Party Time

An abandoned Spanish-style home, still whispering its stories

With wings outstretched and vibrant rose plumage catching the light, these adult spoonbills feed gracefully in the shallow waters of the Merritt Island Wetlands. Their sweeping bills stir the water as they search for food, creating ripples of color and motion that bring the marsh to life — a true celebration of nature’s beauty.

The Story Behind the Canvas

We have such a wonderful variety of birds here in the south, but the spoonbills are among the most breathtaking. Their soft pink feathers, bright against the blues and greens of the wetlands, always capture my imagination — and watching them feed together felt like they were throwing a party all their own.

Party Time is an ode to their elegance, energy, and the joyous spectacle they bring to our Florida waterways.
